Gerald Coetzee displayed an explosive batting performance for South Africa in the first T20I. With the match nearly out of reach, the Proteas pacer swung his bat aggressively, aiming for big boundaries to entertain the Durban crowd.
Gerald Coetzee, to some extent, was quite successful in his attempt as he smashed three sensational sixes and batted with a strike rate of 209.08, which was the most by any South African in the innings.
However, Coetzee’s fiery innings came to an abrupt end on the fifth ball of the 17th over, as he was run out for 23 runs off 11 balls.’

There was a massive mix-up between Keshav Maharaj and Gerald Coetzee after several indecisive calls and a brief mid-pitch conversation. Eventually, they decided to attempt the run, but Suryakumar Yadav’s sensational direct hit shattered the stumps at the batter’s end, sending Coetzee back to the dugout.
