Thunder Use Big Second Quarter to Cool Off Rockets

The Oklahoma City Thunder went on a 26-5 run in the second quarter to take control and get on their way to a 126-107 win over the Houston Rockets on Friday in Oklahoma City.

There were 11 lead changes in the first quarter, then OKC took the lead on a three-pointer by Aaron Wiggins to start the second quarter and never trailed after that.

Both Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren had 29 points to lead OKC.

The Thunder shot 51 percent from the field and forced 16 Rocket turnovers.

Six OKC players scored in double figures.

Both Isaiah Joe and Jalen Williams had 14 points, with Ajay Mitchell adding 12 points and Alex Caruso 10.

The Thunder improved to 8-1 on the season in the opening game of their six-game homestand.

OKC hosts Golden State Sunday at 6:00 pm.
