Former Blazers announcer Brian Wheeler dies at 62

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Long-time Portland Trail Blazers radio announcer Brian Wheeler passed away Friday morning at the age of 62.
The news was first reported by former Blazers reporter, and the the dean of Portland sports, Kerry Eggers.
The Rip City legend stepped away from the broadcast booth in 2019 due to multiple health issues.
Wheeler spent 21 years with the organization.
