Lady Gaga‘s dad is opening up about how their differing political views has impacted their relationship.
Back in September, Joe Germanotta endorsed President Donald Trump for President and called him a “patriot.” In the past, Trump, 78, has slammed Gaga, 38, for endorsing President Joe Biden in 2020.
The night before the election, Gaga showed her support for Vice President Kamala Harris by performing at her rally in Philadelphia.
In a new post-election interview, Joe, 67, admitted that his relationship with Gaga isn’t as strong as it once was and explained his own political views.

“But you know, [we’ll] get past it,” he added.
Joe went open to describe him as an “open-minded Republican” as he often aligns with liberal-leaning social issues, explaining that drag queens often perform at his New York City restaurant Joanne Trattoria.
“What really needs to happen is, people need to understand that even though I’m a Republican and I have Republican conservative attitudes, that doesn’t mean I don’t support the LGBTQ community, or drag as a form of artistry,” Joe explained.
“And that’s why we use the restaurant as a venue for them to come in, the drag artists, and perform once a week,” he added.
While Gaga has publicly talked about her relationship with her father in a while, she did recently share an update on wedding planning with fiancé Michael Polansky.
