Susie Wiles Named Trump’s Chief of Staff

0

President-elect Donald Trump chose Susie Wiles, who served as Trump’s campaign manager, to be his White House chief of staff. Wiles is Trump’s first appointee and the first woman to serve in the position.

“Susie is tough, smart, innovative, and is universally admired and respected. Susie will continue to work tirelessly to Make America Great Again. It is a well deserved honor to have Susie as the first-ever female Chief of Staff in United States history. I have no doubt that she will make our country proud.” Trump said in a statement.

Despite having a significant role in Trump’s campaign, Wiles is known for avoiding the spotlight and staying behind the scenes. She was active on X until 2023 and only posted once this year — she spoke out in response to Mark Cuban’s comments about Trump’s circle of women in the View.

Wiles is a Republican strategist based in Florida who has served in numerous Republican campaigns. She ran Trump’s Florida campaigns in 2016 and 2020 and Rick Scott’s 2010 campaign for Florida governor. During the Reagan administration, Wiles had also worked in Washington, D.C., in the Labor Department, in the White House as a scheduler, and on Capitol Hill working for Rep. Jack Kemp (R-NY).

“Susie Wiles becoming Chief of Staff is MASSIVE. She risked her entire political career and potentially becoming a victim of the Biden-Harris lawfare regime for her country,” Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk posted on X. “A true patriot. This is a GREAT move for MAGA and America,” Kirk added.

The chief of staff is in charge of overseeing White House affairs. During his first administration, Trump had four chiefs of staff: former RNC Chair Reince Priebus, Gen. John Kelly, and former Reps. Mick Mulvaney (R-SC) and Mark Meadows (R-NC).

Members of Trump’s transition team — which includes former presidential candidates Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard — could potentially earn Cabinet roles in Trump’s second term. RFK Jr. announced that Trump promised him control over health agencies during a Zoom call with reporters.
