Lasik Makes Incredible Offer to NFL Refs After Bad Call Spree

0

Lasik eye surgery has helped millions of people see more clearly, and now the company behind the revolutionary vision technology is offering to extend that service to one group of people for free: NFL referees

In recent weeks, some football fans have taken issue with calls made by referees in certain games. On Nov. 7, during the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens game, refs seemingly failed to make face mask and holding calls in the final seconds of the game as Cincinnati made a two-point conversion attempt to win the game. The Ravens came out on top, leaving some to wonder if referee calls would've made a difference.

To help fix their eyesight, Lasik shared on social media that it's offering eye surgeries free of charge to NFL referees. It first floated the idea after the Oct. 24 game between the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams where some calls were seemingly missed. "Better vision. Better calls," the original post read. A similar post followed on Nov. 4 after the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers game that simply read "Hey again!"

Last night's game between the Bengals and Ravens was seemingly a breaking point for fans and Lasik alike.

"Better vision. Better calls. Yes, we’re still offering NFL refs free Lasik," one post read with a clip of an apparent face mask violation from the game. It reiterated the sentiment in another post: "AGAIN. Better vision. Better calls. Obviously, we’re still offering NFL refs free Lasik." They backed up their claims with another video featuring a commentator noting that the play should've received a defensive holding call.

The company is having even more fun with its offer by inviting football fans to "nominate" a referee to receive a discount on their own Lasik procedure. "Nominate a referee and get a special discount through our trusted modern LASIK network," it wrote.

Whether you're a referee or simply a fan upset by the lack of accurate calls, Lasik has you covered.
