Tyreek Hill and Noah Lyles Revive Race Talks After Close Showing From Streamer
Noah Lyles has claimed he's the fastest man alive, and earlier this summer, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill sought to prove him wrong by challenging the three-time Olympic medalist to a race. Now, after Lyles narrowly beat out streamer IShowSpeed in a 100-meter dash earlier this week, Hill is even more energized than ever to compete against Lyles.
After clips emerged online showing just how close Lyles and Speed's race was, Hill believed he could make easy work of the Olympic athlete. "And track athletes think he's gonna beat me," Hill wrote in response to one of these videos with a set of laughing emojis.
Lyles was quick to fire back. "Awww, feeling left out. I’ll dance across the line on you too," he wrote with a winking emoji.

Speed chimed in on the conversation and quipped that Hill was afraid to take on the streamer in the first place.
"He’s scared to race me but he’s trying to race you," Speed wrote in reply to Lyles. "Tyreek, you gotta get through me first."

Lyles outlined his conditions for his race against Hill back in August. He's open to the idea, but it has to be just right.
"If somebody wants to sponsor the event and we’re racing for millions of dollars and it’s on a track and we’re running 100 meters, then sure, we can race," Lyles told NBC News. "But it has to be legit. I’m not here to do gimmicks. You’re racing against a guy who has worked his whole life to get the title of ‘the world’s fastest man’ and you’ve worked to be a great football player. You can’t just jump the line because you’re a great football player."
He also shot down Hill's idea of doing a 50-yard dash and insisted he would only do a 100-meter distance.
"Again, I’m not here to do gimmicks," Lyles said. "You want to challenge me, 'the world’s fastest man,' if you want to challenge that, you have to challenge that in his event."
For now, Hill is likely focusing on his next game as the Miami Dolphins are set to take on the Los Angeles Rams on Nov. 11.
