First Friday announces inaugural Winter Wonders Market

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- First Friday Albany is hosting the first Winter Wonders Market on December 6. The market will be held all throughout the December's First Friday event.

First Friday's market will showcase handmade items like pottery, jewelry, candles, woodworking and decor that would make good holiday gifts. According to organizers, the event is about celebrating the art of making and giving the community access to locally made art and items.

"As we launch the Winter Wonders Market for December's First Friday, we invite the entire
Albany community to come together and celebrate the incredible talent of our local makers and
artists," Leanne Ricchiuti, First Friday Coordinator, said. "Imagine the city filled with unique,
handcrafted treasures that not only make perfect gifts but also tell a story of creativity and
passion. This holiday season, let’s shop small and support our talented artisans, ensuring that
every purchase has a personal touch and strengthens our community. Join us on December 6th
to experience the magic of handmade goods and the joy of giving."

First Friday is currently looking for artists and crafters, with work that people can use, gift or display in their homes. Those interested in being a part of the event are asked to reserve their spot by November 22 as last-minute additions are not guaranteed.

Venues that are interested in hosting can reach out to First Friday through email, as well as artists and crafters. First Friday asks merchants to share a short description of their work, any links to a website or social media and a few images of the items.
