Parent company of Pet Supplies Plus and The Vitamin Shoppe files for bankruptcy protection

The owner of several well-known retail brands, including Pet Supplies Plus, The Vitamin Shoppe and Buddy's Home Furnishings, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
