Queen's Park are in mid-week action, under the lights of New Douglas Park, tonight as they play Celtic for the first time this season in ScottishPower WPL1.
The Spiders will face the current SWPL 1 champions in the rescheduled Matchday 9 fixture.
Celtic currently sit in 5th Place with 26 points – the result of a busier schedule as they continue to compete in the group stages of the UWCL.
Queen’s Park continue to sit one point away from safety following a share of the spoils in Sunday’s game away to The Spartans.
The team will be out of action again this weekend and won’t play again until the 17th of November, so Craig Joyce is keen The Spiders have a good performance before a break from competitive games: “We’re gearing up for a big challenge tonight against a top team like Celtic, but it’s a game we’re all looking forward to. Everyone wants to be playing against of the best – which we get plenty of opportunity to do that in this league.
Celtic will certainly dominate possession, so it’s crucial that we stay compact, stay disciplined, and defend as a unit. At the same time, we have to be brave when we do get the ball and look to exploit their spaces when we can.”
