Kaley Cuoco ‘Finally Understands’ a Common Parenting Complaint: ‘I Get It. I See You’

0

Being brave enough to re-evaluate your opinions is critical as a parent. Just because you think you know about something — or because your baby has previously been a good sleeper or eater, doesn’t mean things can’t change at the blink of an eye. Kaley Cuoco learned that lesson, too, and she just admitted that she “finally understands” a common parenting complaint that we’ve all experienced.

The Based on a True Story star posted a selfie on her Instagram story on Monday morning, per PEOPLE, looking absolutely exhausted. She holds up a mug of coffee with a Sagittarius print on the side, messy hair hanging in frizzy waves around her face, and her eyes rolled back. It’s a look all parents know all too well at one point or another: utter exhaustion.

“I finally understand what parents were always bitching about regarding their kids and daylight savings time,” Cuoco, who is mom to daughter Matilda “Tildy,” 19 months, with fiancé Tom Pelphrey, wrote. “Now I know. I get it. I see you. Why is the world doing this to us?” As a mom of three kids, this week has been a struggle for me too.

Daylight saving time ended early Sunday morning, propelling most of the country back to standard time. Even though we technically got “extra sleep” since the clocks were turned back an hour, it still affects our body’s circadian rhythm, according to the Better Sleep Council, and can influence our stress levels, mood, physical health, and more. So, the fact that Cuoco is feeling it with her daughter is completely understandable.

She also shared a second post showing how Tildy is adjusting to the time change. In this video, set to “Tired” by beabadoobee, Tildy is leaned back in her highchair looking totally relaxed. The sleep is still in her eyes and her hair is all messy from sleep as she stares out at something in the distance. She yawns as she holds a juice packet, looking just as tired as her mom.

“I wish she should would admit she’s tired,” Cuoco wrote on the video, which PEOPLE has screenshots of HERE. “Look at those yawns… Look at them! WHY ARE WE AWAKE.”

Later, she reposted a video joking about daylight saving time, adding, “By 11 a.m., some of us would have already been awake with our children for 42 hours.” Girl, so true!

The Big Bang Theory star shared pictures of her family’s Halloween celebrations this year. The toddler looked precious in a rainbow unicorn costume as her parents switched outfits to go as each other. “???? Happy Halloween from Tom, Kaley, and their little unicorn! ???? ????” Cuoco captioned the post.

It’s been a crazy week, right? Who decided Halloween and the clock change should happen within days of each other?! Still, Tildy seems to be doing just fine now. Cuoco posted two snaps of Tildy on her Instagram story today, all dressed up for ballet class. The toddler is wearing a pink leotard with a pink sparkly tutu, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers in the photo, as she holds what looks like a magic wand in her hand. In another photo, Cuoco added sparkling diamonds to another photo of Tildy at ballet class. Oh my goodness she is such a cutie!

If you’re handling this transition more like Cuoco and less like Tildy, just drink some extra coffee and give yourself some extra self-care this week!
