After Months of Teasers, Kids of Immigrant’s Nike Air Max SNDR Collab Is Almost Here

0

One of Nike’s top-trending sneakers of the year will soon receive a collaboration from an equally buzzy brand with the Kids of Immigrants x Nike Air Max SNDR.

Initially teased over the summer on one of Nike’s SNKRS streams, the Kids of Immigrants x Nike Air Max SNDR will feature two vibrant colorways of the late-‘90s design.

The model was first released in 1999 and then known as the Air Sunder Max, the Air Max SNDR has been one of Nike’s more surprising retro successes of 2024. Having already been released in a number of styles as well as winter-ready Gore-Tex-equipped versions, the shoe will now receive its second collaboration following the Comme des Garçon Homme Plus spin on the sneaker in 2022.

Set to launch in purple “Persian Violet” and orange “Sundial” colorways, the Kids of Immigrants x Nike Air Max SNDR is said to take inspiration from Nike’s ‘90s outdoor ACG range. Both pairs don colorful gradient treatments and the addition of TPU caging across both sides of the shoe, the first Air Max SNDRs to feature this design detail. They come with two-tone shoelaces — another nod to outdoor footwear — and feature translucent soles reading “kids of” on the left shoe and “immigrants” on the right.

As a nod to Kids of Immigrant co-founders Weleh Dennis and Daniel Buezo’s upbringings, the shoes come packaged with an international calling card accessory. A number listed on the card, 1 (323) 310-3062, leads callers to a Kids of Immigrants text message subscription.

Kids of Immigrants previously worked with Nike on a special set of Air Max 1 ’86 “Big Bubble” sneakers.

A release date for the Kids of Immigrants x Nike Air Max SNDR sneakers has not been confirmed, but both pairs are slated to arrive at retailers and Nike’s SNKRS app before the end of the year. Retail pricing of $190 is expected. Readers can find a detailed look at both styles below.
