At some Pennsylvania polling centers, lines to vote are approaching a six-hour wait, per the New York Times. But at a few lucky locations, Paul Rudd was on hand to relieve stress, take selfies, distribute water bottles, and make MSNBC anchors giggle. The actor was spotted at Philadelphia’s Temple University on Tuesday afternoon by MSNBC national correspondent Jacob Soboroff in the middle of a live newscast. When Soboroff asked what brought him out to Pennsylvania voting lines, Rudd said, “I just wanted to give people water. They’re waiting in line for a long time, and it’s a wonderful thing that all these young people are out voting.”

When the reporter informed Rudd that some people had waited upwards of two hours to vote, Rudd nodded, “That’s impressive.” “We’ve been doing lots of stuff today here in Pennsylvania,” he added. “We wanted to come out and tell these students they’re doing really great things.”

Based on selfies and videos posted by voters throughout the day, it looks as though Rudd was also politely mobbed while handing out water at Villanova University, less than an hour from Temple. And here’s Paul pointing at a “Pennsylvania for Harris-Walz” poster. I should add that this isn’t Rudd’s first time serving as a little election treats fairy. In 2020, he made similar headlines for handing out cookies to voters standing in the rain at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Thank you for your service, Paul!
