The 2024 season has concluded. Congratulations to the Los Angeles Dodgers for winning the World Series over the Yankees in five games! With that, MLB’s offseason is officially underway. Over the course of the next handful of weeks, we will be keeping up with every notable move from across the baseball sphere. Of course, any move made by the Guardians will take precedence over all else.

November 2

ARI — Diamondbacks decline club option of RP Scott McGough.
⇢ Diamondbacks exercise club option for SP Merrill Kelly.
⇢ Joc Pederson declines mutual option.

ATL — Braves and SP Reynaldo Lopez agree to 3-year, $30 million contract with a club option for 2027.
⇢ Braves and RP Aaron Bummer agree to 2-year, $13 million contract.

November 3

KCR — Royals and SP Michael Wacha agree to 3-year, $51 million contract with a club option for 2028.

MIL — Brewers decline club options for RP Devin Williams and C Eric Haase.

NYY — Yankees select contracts of C JC Escarra, OF Taylor Trammell, RP Yerry De Los Santos from minor leagues.
⇢ Yankees decline club option for RP Lou Trivino.

WSH — Nationals decline mutual option for 1B/OF Joey Gallo.

November 4 — Free Agency officially opens

CLE — James Karinchak is activated off of 60-day IL; outrighted to minor leagues; elects free agency. Karinchak did not pitch in MLB in 2024.

ARI — Arizona claims RP Seth Martinez off waivers from Houston. Martinez posted a 3.59 ERA in 52.2 innings for the Astros in 2024.

ATL — Atlanta declines club option for C Travis d’Arnaud. d’Arnaud will be going into his age 36 season and posted 1.8 fWAR and a 103 wRC+ in 2024.
⇢ Atlanta exercises club option for DH Marcell Ozuna. Ozuna had a career year in 2024, slugging 39 home runs to go with a 154 wRC+, a career high.
⇢ Atlanta declines club option for RP Luke Jackson. Jackson, 33, struggled in his limited innings (18.0) in ‘24, posting a 4.50 ERA.

BAL — Orioles declined club option for RP Danny Coulombe. Coulombe posted a 2.12 ERA across 29.2 innings despite dealing with an elbow injury that needed surgery.
⇢ Orioles exercise club options for RP Seranthony Domínguez (3.97 ERA), platoon 1B Ryan O’Hearn (1.7 fWAR, 119 wRC+), and RP Cionel Pérez (4.53 ERA in 53.2 IP).

BOS — Red Sox exercise club option for cOF Rob Refsnyder. Refsnyder posted a 130 wRC+ in 2024 and had much more success against RHP after a 2023 that showed extreme splits.

CHC — Cubs outright C Christian Bethancourt, RP Colten Brewer, RP Yency Almonte, RP Enoli Paredes to minor leagues; all three elect free agency.
⇢ Cubs claim RP Rob Zastryzny off waivers from Brewers. Zastryzny threw 7.2 MLB innings in ‘24 with a 1.17 ERA.
⇢ Cubs DFA RP Jimmy Herget as corresponding move.

CWS — White Sox outright RPs Matt Foster and Jimmy Lambert to minor leagues; both elect free agency.
⇢ White Sox claim RP Penn Murfee off waivers from Astros. Murfee did not pitch in 2024 (Tommy John Surgery)

COL — C Jacob Stallings declines mutual option to remain with Rockies.

DET — Tigers outright OF Ryan Vilade, 1B Bligh Madris, and P Bryan Sammons to minor leagues; Vilade and Madris elect free agency.
⇢ Tigers declined club option of SP Casey Mize. The former 1st overall pick struggled in 2024 upon returning from Tommy John Surgery.

HOU — Astros outright RP Oliver Ortega and SP José Urquidy to minor leagues; both elect free agency.
⇢ Astros acquire OF Taylor Trammell from Yankees for cash considerations.

LAA — Angels select contract of UT Scott Kingery from minor leagues after trading for Kingery from Phillies for cash considerations.
⇢ Angels release RP Kenny Rosenberg.

LAD — SP Clayton Kershaw declines player option.

MIA — Marlins outright RPs Sixto Sánchez and Josh Simpson to minor leagues.
⇢ Marlins select contract of RP Luarbert Arias from minor leagues.

MIL — Brewers outright platoon 1B Jake Bauers (87 wRC+) and RP Bryse Wilson (4.04 ERA, 104.2 IP) to minor leagues; both elect free agency.
⇢ SP Frankie Montas declines mutual option to remain with Brewers. The soon-to-be 32 year-old pitched 150.2 innings this season, his most since 2021, but he was hardly effective, posting a 4.84 ERA and 1.367 WHIP.

MIN — Twins outright SP Randy Dobnak (5.59 ERA, 9.2 IP), UT Yunior Severino, and RPs Daniel Duarte (4 IP), Scott Blewett (1.77 ERA, 20.1 IP), and Josh Winder (9 IP) to minor leagues.

NYM — Mets outright OF DJ Stewart, SP Joey Lucchesi, RP Matt Gage to minor leagues; Stewart and Lucchesi elect free agency.
⇢ Mets decline club option for RP Phil Maton.
⇢ Mets claim RP Kevin Herget off of waivers from Brewers.
⇢ Mets claim INF Luis De Los Santos off of waivers from Blue Jays.

NYY — Yankees outright OF Duke Ellis to minor leagues.

A’s — Athletics claim RP Justin Sterner off waivers from Rays.

PHI — Phillies outright INF Rodolfo Castro and RPs Yunior Marte, Luis F. Ortiz, Kolby Allard, and SP Freddy Tarnok to minor leagues; all elect free agency.

⇢ Phillies acquire RP Devin Sweet from Tigers for cash considerations; select contract from minor leagues.
