Tottenham Hotspur are not expected to have a straight run at one of Ange Postecoglou’s top targets, with Liverpool now reportedly entering the race for the player in question.

Spurs eyeing another Bournemouth raid

After securing Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth in the summer, it has emerged over recent months that Tottenham may look to raid the Cherries for another one of their impressive attackers.

This time, it is Antoine Semenyo on the Lilywhites’ radar, with several outlets revealing that Ange Postecoglou’s men have been extremely impressed by the winger’s performances this campaign (GiveMeSport).

However, some sources have insisted over recent weeks that Bournemouth are determined to keep hold of the 24-year-old and are not in the mood to entertain any offers for him in January (TBR Football).

Even if Bournemouth were willing to sell Semenyo during January, Spurs may not find it very easy to secure the winger’s services.

This is because Sky Sports News are now reporting that Liverpool are now also eyeing a move for the Ghana international on the back of his electric performances so far this season.

The report says that the Red have identified Semenyo and Bournemouth’s Bryan Mbeumo as potential targets as Arne Slot looks to bolster his forward line.

Can Spurs win a transfer battle with Liverpool?

Liverpool would be a more attractive club than Spurs for players, given that the Reds look set for an assault on the Premier League title this season.

However, Tottenham can perhaps offer Semenyo a better chance of getting regular first-team football.

That might be Ange Postecoglou‘s pitch to the Bournemouth star, along with a suggestion that the club aim to challenge for major honours in the near future.
