Kari Lake is already claiming voter fraud
When Election Night 2024 arrived, one of the closely watched U.S. Senate races was taking place in Arizona — where Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) and far-right MAGA Republican Kari Lake are competing for the seat being vacated by independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema.
Most polls have showed Gallego ahead. And according to Wired's David Gilbert, Lake was preparing for likely defeat by resorting to a familiar playbook: falsely claiming voter fraud.
Lake continues to claim that Arizona's last gubernatorial race was stolen from her through widespread voter fraud — a claim she has offered no proof of.

Former Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey, however, has maintained that Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs' victory was perfectly legitimate.
Gilbert notes that Lake has been "one of the most vocal boosters of the election denial in the wake of the 2020 election."
"She has built an entire political personality on the back of promoting debunked election conspiracy theories," Gilbert observes.
Gilbert adds that Lake "remains convinced that the election will be stolen."
