M42 closure Jct 6-7a - 6-9 & 13-16 Dec
We have Barnsley away on the 7th November, if travelling through this section of the M42, my advice is allow at least an extra 90 minutes of travelling time, if following the advised diversion route from Junction 6 via Stonebridge Island and along Stonebridge Rd to rejoin at Junction 9 and vice versa if coming back the other way
Travelled from Tamworth to Solihull and back on Sunday for the last closure and took me 90 minutes to get there and 105 minutes back. All the islands and lights become pinch points as well as the new road layout for HS2 around Coleshill for all the extra diverted motorway traffic on the Stonebridge Rd
Not sure if you can use the M6 North or South and rejoin M42 past/before Junction 7a as wasn't viable for where I needed to get to, but may be a better alternative if travelling from the North of the City that weekend, if it is.
Evidently Tyburn Rd from Town to Minworth was just as bad as the Stonebridge Rd as well
