Strictly’s Jamie Borthwick addresses ‘curse’ rumours after admitting to ‘cosy night’ with partner Michelle
JAMIE Borthwick has opened up on speculation he’s been hit by the Strictly Come Dancing “curse.”
It comes after the BBC soap star, 30, revealed he had enjoyed a “cosy” night with his show partner, professional dancer Michelle Tsiakkas, 29.

He then appeared to stumble as he tried to further give an explanation to his comments.
A confused looking Claudia seemed to be completely surprised and taken aback before Jamie continued: “On the rehearsal floor.”
Now he has clarified their connection after the blunder and said: “With the old Strictly curse, you definitely ain’t got no worries about Michelle.
“She’s like a sister, mum and auntie all rolled into one.”
Jamie, who has twice topped the Strictly leaderboard, added to Closer Magazine: “We’ve got sibling chemistry.”
Romance rumours between the two have been sparked through the series.
Their close relationship was confirmed when a show microphone picked up a very cheeky four word remark from the actor.
OPENING UP
Yet despite their cute connection, Jamie was first to confirm they are not an item to The Sun.
Speaking exclusively to us, he said: “Honestly, it’s hilarious that people think we’re getting jiggy!
“I really don’t know where that comes from, but I think everyone kind of just pre-empts the Strictly curse.”
He added: “She’s constantly like, ‘Have you slept well? Have you got this and that?’
“I’m being mothered! We’ve got sibling chemistry.”
A host of Strictly Come Dancing stars have been struck by the Strictly Curse during the past two decades.

ALL GO
Earlier this year, we reported how Jamie would not be on a sex ban during his Strictly Come Dancing stint.
It came after the Jay Brown actor – who has starred on the BBC soap since 2006 – was been linked to co-star Jazzy Phoenix, 24.
In September, prior to the live BBC shows, he opened up on his training prep.
Jamie denied switching up his lifestyle to accommodate the hectic training schedule and said: “‘No booze ban for me.
“I’ve never drunk ever in my life and no one loves me, so I can’t do a sex ban!
“No bans for me, just loads of food.”
Strictly Curse - The Lowdown
STRICTLY Come Dancing's latest series has already been hit by rumours of a BBC show 'curse' - yet what is it?
A host of Strictly Come Dancing stars have been struck by the Strictly Curse during the past two decades.
This is where celebrities who may or may not be attached in the outside world become more than friends with their professional partners.
A total of 20 relationships are said to have been impacted so far over the show’s 20 years.
It has seen relationships crumble with dance floor romances and punishing rehearsal schedules to blame.
This includes the partnerships of Louise and Jamie Redknapp as well as Kevin Clifton and Karen Hauer.
Controversially, Judge Craig Revel Horwood once said of the curse: “I think of it as a blessing, to be honest. One person is married, the other one had a girlfriend but my point in this entire thing is: if you come on Strictly, sometimes you are in a relationship that is not working anyway.
“There has to be something wrong in your relationship before it all goes awry.”
Series one winner Brendan Cole left his fiancé, fellow Strictly professional Camilla Dallerup, during filming for the very first series in spring 2004.
Brendan was said to have fallen for his celebrity partner and inaugural winner Natasha Kaplinsky, although the duo didn’t confirm they were romantically involved.
The London lad previously addressed his expected Strictly fan base.
He told MailOnline: “A load of mums, which’ll be great.
“Oh, my mum loves it. My nan loves it.”
He added: “The EastEnders fan base is everything from children to great grandparents so that’s great.
“But as long as everyone all across the hall is happy and having fun, then we’re happy.”
