Abbas Araghchi, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, met with Asim Munir, the Chief of the Pakistan Army, during his official visit to Pakistan.

According to Iranian media reports, the two discussed recent developments related to bilateral cooperation and the regional situation.

Araghchi and General Asim Munir reviewed the latest developments in Iran-Pakistan relations, focusing particularly on defense-military cooperation and security along their shared border.

On Tuesday, November 5, Araghchi held his second working session in Islamabad with Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister. Following this meeting, he is scheduled to participate in a joint press conference with his Pakistani counterpart.

He is also expected to meet with Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, to further discuss mutual interests.

It is worth noting that Abbas Araghchi previously visited Pakistan in 2018 in his former role as Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs.

This visit signifies Iran’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic and security ties with Pakistan, especially given the regional security challenges both countries face.

Araghchi’s meetings in Pakistan may pave the way for enhanced cooperation on shared concerns, from border security to regional stability. Both countries are likely aiming to solidify a strategic partnership that addresses mutual interests amid a complex geopolitical landscape.
