Golden State basketball is on the way! Come join our game thread and chat about tonight’s matchup here.

The Golden State Warriors continue their five-game road trip with Monday night’s matchup against the Washington Wizards. The game will be played at 4:15 PM PT in Washington D.C. and can be watched on NBC Sports Bay Area.

Previously with the Warriors:

Golden State kicked off their road trip with a gritty 127-121 overtime victory over the Houston Rockets. The Warriors dominated the first half, building a massive 31-point lead. However, Houston stormed back in the second half, challenging the Warriors down the stretch. With the game on the line, young stars Brandin Podziemski and Jonathan Kuminga stepped up in the fourth quarter and overtime, delivering clutch baskets to help secure Golden State’s fifth win of the season.

What to watch for tonight:

Monday’s matchup against the Wizards marks another reunion with former Warrior Jordan Poole. The Wizards’ lead guard is off to a strong start this season, averaging 22.2 points per game on an efficient 51.2% from beyond the three-point line. He’ll face a tough challenge tonight, however, as the Warriors bring the NBA’s second-best defense with a 101.0 defensive rating.

With Stephen Curry questionable for tonight’s game, the Warriors will continue to lean on Buddy Hield, who’s thrived in head coach Steve Kerr’s system. Hield once again led the Warriors with 27 points off the bench against Houston and has been the team’s top scorer this season, averaging 22.2 points per game. His remarkable shooting—51.7% from three on nearly 10 attempts per game—highlights Kerr’s emphasis on being a high-volume three-point shooting team this season.

The Warriors will once again lean on scoring contributions from Hield, Kuminga, and Andrew Wiggins tonight. As long as they can provide the offensive firepower, the Warriors’ defense should be good enough to handle an undermanned Wizards squad and hopefully secure the team’s fourth consecutive victory.
