Republicans hope to retain 3 open Indiana House seats and target another long held by Democrats
Indiana voters have three open congressional seats to fill in the election Tuesday. Republicans hope to keep them while aiming to knock off a Democrat in the northwest part of the state. Three incumbents are retiring or seeking another office. They’re currently all held by Republicans in right-leaning districts. The GOP is also targeting Democratic U.S. Rep. Frank Mrvan, who is seeking his third term in the 1st District. Republicans hope a new map that took effect in 2022 has made the district more conservative. Mrvan won in 2022 with nearly 53% of the vote after taking just under 57% in 2020.
