0

What once seemed unthinkable just a decade ago— when black-and-white designs dominated the scene— has been very much in vogue in the past years. Bold colors that span the entire spectrum have breathed new life and individuality into the world of horology. Yet, as the color carousel spins ever faster, we’re witnessing a remarkable comeback of classic black-and-white timepieces.

These elegant watches embody timeless sophistication and minimalist refinement, effortlessly pairing with any wardrobe, whether casual or formal, for any occasion. The same holds true for gray, a true classic. This appealing shade, darker than white and lighter than black, carries no chromatic weight yet offers subtlety and understatement. With nine distinct shades of gray bridging the gap between black and white, each expresses its own kind of elegance, allowing these timepieces to shine quietly while perfectly complementing every outfit. Join us as we explore this beautiful revival and the artistry behind these stunning designs.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin

The Master Ultra Thin collection epitomizes Jaeger-LeCoultre’s philosophy of blending technical virtuosity with timeless aesthetics. The latest addition to this esteemed lineup is the Master Ultra Thin Date in a 39mm stainless steel case, featuring a new sunburst dial in a captivating bluish-gray hue.

This watch showcases clear lines, polished surfaces, and elegantly curved lugs, all housed in a slim stainless steel case measuring just 7.8m in height. The minimalist dial, adorned with trapezoidal indices and Dauphine hands, makes it an exquisite dress watch.

For the first time, this reimagined model presents a striking bluish-gray tone enhanced by the sunburst finish. At its heart beats the automatic Caliber 899, a high-end manufacture movement, whose exquisite decorations and partially skeletonized pink gold rotor are beautifully revealed through the sapphire crystal case back.

Pricing is marked at $9,550.

Stowa Flieger Verus Black Forest Lagoon

It’s only fitting that the traditional brand from the Black Forest creates an all-black watch. Thanks to the numbers and indices that stand out against the matte black background, readability is guaranteed at all times. The turquoise hands and the pilot triangle further enhance visibility, inspired by a spring in Southern Germany: the Blautopf, which is famous for its blue waters. The luminous material used for the numbers and indices also glows in this striking color in the dark.

With a case size of 40mm and a height of 10.2mm, the Flieger Verus watch is available with various movements and qualities. The price for the execution with a Sellita SW200 in its basic version starts at €1,090 or approximately $when converted to USD.
