Elephant Rumblings: Kyle Muller elects free agency

After clearing waivers and being outrighted to Triple-A on Friday, Kyle Muller has elected free agency.

Muller had his moments in 2024, and his 4.01 ERA through 49 ⅓ innings wasn’t terrible. Jason Burke at SI.com noted that the big lefty improved his walk rate to five percent this year.

But Kyle, who came from Atlanta as part of the ever more rapidly disappearing return for Sean Murphy, hasn’t gained steady traction with the A’s, and being out of options he may be best off getting a fresh start with another organization while the A’s look to build on the momentum they built through the season.

Athletics Nation wishes Kyle Muller all the best as the next chapter in his career unfolds.

Tomorrow is Election Day, but unfortunately “A’s Owner” is not an elected office.
