Major League Baseball on Sunday night revealed the 2024 Rawlings Sports Gold Glove Award Winners. Former Met Seth Lugo was a recipient. Chris Sale won the Gold Glove Award for National League pitchers. Luis Severino was a finalist.
The winners for the National League are:

- Christian Walker, first baseman – Arizona Diamondbacks
- Brice Turang, second baseman – Milwaukee Brewers
- Matt Chapman, third baseman – San Francisco Giants
- Ezequiel Tovar, shortstop – Colorado Rockies
- Ian Happ, left fielder – Chicago Cubs
- Brenton Doyle, center fielder – Colorado Rockies
- Sal Frelick, Right Fielder – Milwaukee Brewers
- Jared Triolo, utility player – Pittsburgh Pirates
- Chris Sale, pitcher – Atlanta Braves

According to ESPN’s Jorge Castillo, a recent investigation by Major League Baseball revealed that a top prospect out of the Dominican Republic who had verbally agreed to sign with the San Diego Padres for approximately $4 million is five years older than he had previously stated. Should the age of the player be confirmed to be five years older than he stated as the report states, it is assumed he would receive a one-year suspension before being allowed to reapply.
Nippon Fighters Public Relations on Sunday reported that Gosuke Katoh announced his retirement from baseball at the end of this season. “I’m really grateful to all the fans who have supported and cheered me on over the past 12 years. I’ve been able to get this far thanks to my family, teammates, manager, coaches, the club, and all the fans. I’ll continue to take on new challenges, and move forward with the experiences and gratitude I’ve gained so far in my heart,” he said.
Per Jeff Passan of ESPN, according to sources, right-handed pitcher Michael Wacha and the Kansas City Royals are in agreement on a three-year, $51 million contract. The deal is presumed to include a couple options and can max out at four years and $72 million.
According to Passan as well, the Milwaukee Brewers declined closer Devin Williams’ club option for $10.5 million. He will receive a $250,000 buyout. He will remain with the Brewers for the next year in which will be his final year of arbitration and is expected to make $8-9 million. He is also a trade candidate.
According to Gary Phillips of NYDN Sports, the New York Yankees have declined Lou Trivino’s club option for 2025.
According to Cooperstown Dave, the Classic Baseball Era Committee ballot was revealed early. The candidates are presumed to include: Dick Allen, Ken Boyer, John Donaldson, Steve Garvey, Vic Harris, Tommy John, Dave Parker, and Luis Tiant.
