Ahead of polls, EC orders immediate transfer of Maharashtra DGP; Opposition hails move

Maharashtra DGP Rashmi Shukla has been transferred out of her post by the Election Commission of India ahead of the state's assembly elections. The Maha Vikas Aghadi had alleged that Shukla was biased towards the BJP and demanded her removal. The ECI has asked the state government to submit names for a new DGP.
