Deck cleat size

I was lucky enough to find a free Sunfish in good condition needing only minor repairs. The only thing missing is the deck cleat for the halyard. I have a 3” and a 4” cleat but wondering which one is better for use with a 3/16” halyard. What size was the original cleat? Thanks for any and all comments!
