Australia offers troops more cash bonuses to address defence shortfall

Australia will spend A$600 million to boost its defence force. The government aims to address workforce shortages and retain skilled personnel. A bonus scheme will be extended until 2028. The scheme offers A$40,000 to defence force members. The Department of Defence aims to achieve a permanent defence workforce of 69,000 by the early 2030s.
