Shooting victim dies after crash in Franklin Township

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WCMH) -- A man is dead and a second person is hospitalized after a shooting victim was found after a crash in southwest Columbus Sunday afternoon.

According to a Columbus police dispatcher, officers responded to a call for a crash at approximately 3:16 p.m. near the intersection of Demorest Road and Rock Way Lane.

At the scene, officers found one man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A second victim is hospitalized in critical condition; the nature of their injuries is not known at this time.

The roadway is closed from near Clime and Demorest roads to Rocky Way Lane or Maple Shade Court as police investigate the incident, including learning where the shooting happened.
