Vote with pride: Share your 'I Voted' selfies
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Election Day is almost here, and NBC4 is calling on the central Ohio community to celebrate taking charge of their civic duty and sharing their “I Voted” selfies.
Since Ohio law prohibits taking pictures inside a polling place or near voting machines, voters can submit photos of themselves proudly wearing their stickers outside voting locations using the form at the bottom of this story.
The design of Ohio's unique “I Voted” stickers comes from a contest held by Secretary of State Frank LaRose in 2019. The competition encouraged young Ohioans to participate in the democratic process by overhauling the sticker's look. Over 2,000 students from grades 6 through 12 submitted designs, with Emily Legg, a senior at Teays Valley High School in Pickaway County, emerging as the winner after more than 15,000 public votes.
Early in-person voting wraps up on Sunday, Nov. 3, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. With strong turnout already reported at the Franklin County Board of Elections, voters are showing up with enthusiasm, ready to make their voices heard.
Important election dates to remember:
• Nov. 3: Last day for early in-person voting, 1 p.m. — 5 p.m.
• Nov. 4: Mailed absentee ballots must be postmarked.
• Nov. 5: Election Day, polls open from 6:30 a.m. — 7:30 p.m.
