These are the top 10 places for drinks in the Portland metro area: Yelp
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Whether you're in the mood for coffee, cocktails, or boba, Yelp released a list of the top places to grab a drink in the Portland metro area.
Yelp ranked the spots on several factors including total volume and ratings of reviews from Yelp Elite Squad members from August 2023 to August 2024.
1. LeChon
LeChon was founded in 2015, serving up fiery South American-inspired cuisine on Portland’s waterfront.
The cocktail menu includes the Turkey Shoot cocktail with Wild Turkey rye, coffee vermouth, and ginger liquor, and the WTCID (what the chef is drinking) featuring LeChon fat-washed barrel aged cachaca, demerara, bitters, orange peel, and smoke.
LeChon also offers zero-proof takes on a Tom Collins and old fashioned.
2. Less & More Coffee
Less & More Coffee, serves up fresh roasted coffee and nostalgia in a converted bus shelter from the 1970s in Downtown Portland near the corner of SW 5th and Salmon.
“I didn’t know until I start selling coffee and a lot of customers telling me that, ‘Oh, I have memories here. I used to catch the bus with my grandmother,'” Less & More Coffee owner Ryan Jie Jiang previously told KOIN 6 News. “It was like the ’70’s, and I feel a little grateful to have someone’s memories and remind them of their childhood.”
According to Yelp, popular drinks include the Tiramisu Latte, Ube (purple yam) latte, and the Maple Cold Brew.
3. Cecilia
Located in Vancouver, Cecilia, which is open for breakfast and dinner, offers a variety of drinks.
Guest favorites include the espresso martini, guajillo smoked bloody mary and the restaurant's mimosa specials.
Other drinks include the Walk of Shame – with mud puddle vodka, coffee crème de moka – the tequila-based Afternoon Delight – and Friends with Benedicts with pineapple rum.
4. Phuket Café
Phuket Café, a self-described noodle house by day and steakhouse by night, sits on NW 23rd Place in Portland. It's also the sister restaurant of the James Beard Award-winning Langbaan.
The cocktail lineup includes Copacabana Punch with rum coconut, pineapple, and coffee bean, and the Thank You, Good Night with Thai Tea Rum. Phuket Café also offers a beer and wine list -- featuring local favorite Portland Cider Company -- and non-alcoholic options.
5. Gabbiano’s
Gabbiano's, an Italian-American joint in NE Portland, offers and extensive wine and cocktail list -- including espresso martinis, the Sophia Loren cocktail with bourbon, peach, lemon, oat milk, vanilla, and amaro del etna, along with the signature Gabi's Martini with Aria Gin or Timberline Vodka.
"With a menu that respects Italian-American traditions while giving them a little Gab’s tweak, and a seriously playful cocktail list that compliments the food, you’re sure to create new memories of meals shared together," Gabbiano's website says.
6. Proud Mary Coffee
Proud Mary Coffee, on NE Alberta St., was founded in Australia in 2009 before the business opened two cafes in Portland and Austin, Texas.
The cafe offers drip coffee, espresso-based drinks and pour over flights.
In 2023, Proud Mary Coffee's Portland location was one of the locations serving its award-winning Black Jaguar Geisha coffee for $150 a cup after the beverage won first place in the 2022 Best of Panama competition, one of the most prestigious coffee competitions in the world.
7. Pho Kita Steak & Ribs
Pho Kita Steak & Ribs, off of NW 185th Ave. in Hillsboro has several drink options including beer, wine, zero-proof drinks, mocktails, margaritas and a line of Year of the Dragon-inspired cocktails.
Pho Kita Owner Helen Phan told KOIN 6 News that the line is inspired by her eldest daughter, who was born during the year of the dragon. Pho Kita is also inspired by her younger daughter's nickname.
The Vietnamese restaurant boasts a five-star rating on Yelp.
8. de Fuego
de Fuego brings flavors from South America and Texas to Clackamas.
The restaurant offers an assortment of beer, wine, and cocktails, and features an extensive whiskey list from around the world.
9. Coava Coffee Roasters
With several locations around Portland, Coava Coffee Roasters is a self-described "northwest coffee roaster notoriously fueled by good folks and Led Zeppelin."
Coava's locations include its espresso bar on Hawthorne, and its Main St. cafe with pour over coffee, espresso drinks, cold brew and seasonal drinks -- including pumpkin spice and salted maple lattes.
10. Phin Caphe & Boba
Phin Caphe & Boba, with locations in Portland and Beaverton, is a women-owned coffee shop specializing in Vietnamese coffee and tea.
According to Yelp, popular drinks include Vietnamese Coffee, pistachio coffee, and strawberry mojito. The cafe also offers an "upgraded version" of chocolate milk called milo cacao -- topped with milo balls, flan, and boba -- and Biscoffee, which is topped with a Biscoff cookie.
