O-I Glass seeing common challenges faced by U.S. glassmakers

O-I Glass is facing multiple challenges to its core glass bottle business and is addressing them with programs designed to make the company leaner and more cost-competitive.  It’s not clear, though, whether those changes will be enough to stem the company’s long-term slide down the Fortune 500 list of the country’s largest businesses.
