New Delhi's PM2.5 levels on Diwali night reached 603 g/m³, a 13% rise from previous years, with increased nitrogen dioxide levels due to heavy traffic. Unlike past trends, pollution decreased rapidly the next day, aided by warm conditions and efficient natural ventilation. More farm fires and a change in wind direction also contributed to the pollution levels.
