Netflix fans go wild as streamer announces terrifying horror franchise is returning after four year break
NETFLIX fans have gone absolutely wild as the streamer announced the return of a terrifying horror franchise.
After a four year break, the hit series is set to make a huge comeback onto the global platform.
Fear Street was the series of US horror films that were based of the book series of the same name by R. L. Stine.
He was best known as the author of the Goosebumps horror fiction novel series which has sold over 400 million copies across the globe.
It revolved around teenagers that attempted to break the curse that has been looming over their town for hundreds of years.
Leigh Janiak directed the original hit trilogy which involved elements the slasher genre of films and supernatural themes.
The original trilogy was originally available to view for subscribers on the service in 2021.
Netflix has now officially announced the return of the franchise to the platform with a spooky poster.
It featured a shadow of a haunting gothic style castle behind a foggy background for a new instalment directed by Matt Palmer.
A bloody axe was placed in front of a sign that read: “Shadyside High School Senior Prom ’88.”
A post on its official account on X – formerly known as Twitter – read: “Return to Shadyside High for one unforgettable night.
“Fear Street: Prom Queen comes Netflix in 2025.”
This was also alongside a sharp knife emoji and a red tear, potentially signifying blood.
Fans soon flooded the platform as they look forward to the new project after the success of the original trilogy.
One fan posted: “It sounds like a thrilling return to the Fear Street universe! Excited to see how the story unfolds!”
A second wrote: “That sounds wicked cool! We’re in for a wild ride back to Shadyside. Can’t wait to see what chills and thrills await us in 2025!”
