FORECAST DISCUSSION:

Good Friday Evening,

Behind the Halloween cold front, temps went back closer to normal today with clearing skies. This will set us up for a typical first Friday night for football playoffs tonight with temps falling into the lower 50s during the games.

Expect clear skies, and patchy frost to start Saturday with lows in the mid to upper 30s. Sunshine will be the rule for Saturday as we have the latest sunrise of the entire year on Saturday. Temps will top in the lower 60s in the afternoon. Sunday winds will shift around, as a warm front lifts north and clouds increase. Expect showers later in the day, with highs in the upper 60s.

This will set up another very warm period for early next week. Temps will climb to the mid 70s on Monday with partly sunny skies. We should be breezy and warm for Election Day Tuesday with highs approaching the record of 77° set 2 years ago in 2022. In fact, this will likely be the warmest Election Day in Columbus history (for a November election). As the current record for "Election Day" is November, 3, 1964 when it hit 74° in the city. Currently 5 times it has been in the 70s in Columbus for the Presidential Election since record keeping started in the late 1870s.

There is a chance of showers late on Tuesday as the cold front approached and pushes through our area on Wednesday morning. This should keep rain showers in the forecast for the first half of the day on Wednesday, with some breezy conditions and clearing late, with highs still in the mid 60s.

High pressure will build in on Thursday and Friday, leading to clearing skies, and highs still well above normal in the middle 60s.

**Don't forget, this weekend, we have the longest day of the year, with clocks falling back an hour (25 hour day) on Sunday morning at 2am**
