SAN JOSE — Police arrested two teenagers on suspicion of an armed robbery last month, according to a department news release Friday.

Officers received a call of an armed robbery around Toyon Avenue and Holly Drive around 11:45 a.m. Oct. 23. The victims reported that a vehicle had stopped in front of them while they drove home after making a cash withdrawal from their bank.

The two suspects got out of the car, each wielding firearms, and approached the victims. They pointed their guns at the victims and demanded money from them. One victim handed them her purse. The suspects then returned to their vehicle and fled the scene.

Responding officers found out the suspect vehicle was reported stolen earlier that day. The suspects were then located and identified and taken into custody.

After an investigation by the San Jose Police Department Robbery Unit, detectives identified the teenagers as perpetrators in another armed robbery the day before on the 1000 block of Ivy Glen Drive.

Police said the suspects also followed the victim home after the latter had withdrawn money from a bank. One of the suspects was armed with a gun when they approached the victims and demanded their wallet. The victim gave their wallet to the suspects, and they fled the scene in a stolen vehicle.

The suspects are a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old, both from San Jose, police said. They were booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of armed robbery and possession of a stolen vehicle.
