LeBron James endorses Kamala Harris for president
With under a week until Election Day, LeBron James made it clear he’s supporting Kamala Harris over Donald Trump.
Given his platform, LeBron James is well aware of the weight his words carry. He knows what kind of waves will be created when he chooses to speak.
When it specifically comes to politics, LeBron hasn’t shied away. On Thursday, just days before the 2024 election, LeBron made it clear, not that there was much debate, who he would be supporting for President of the United States.
What are we even talking about here?? When I think about my kids and my family and how they will grow up, the choice is clear to me. VOTE KAMALA HARRIS!!! pic.twitter.com/tYYlTmQS6e

LeBron has made his disdain for Donald Trump known throughout the years. Most famously, his “U bum” tweet made it pretty clear where he stood. Trump and LeBron have gone back-and-forth throughout the years even aside from that.
In 2020, LeBron endorsed Joe Biden and Harris shortly after a “LeBron James sucks” chant at a Trump rally. Back in 2018, Trump tweeted insults at LeBron as well, which then-teammate Josh Hart called childish. The likes of Adam Silver and Michael Jordan, among others, came to the defense of LeBron in that moment as well.
In the bubble, LeBron was also a leader of the movement where the players threatened to leave before eventually coming to an agreement to play on. Much of what was agreed upon related to elections.
He’s also been a talking point and focus throughout the years from the Republican party, never more so than the “Shut up and dribble” comment that drew the most attention.
It was never much of a debate, then, that LeBron would both speak up about this election and be in support of Kamala and Tim Walz. But given the weight of his words, it was still was important to him to use his voice to share his opinion.
