Investigation into 'weed pen' used by Lafayette Middle School student
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) - An investigation is underway into a device used to smoke marijuana that was found at Lafayette Middle School.
Parents tell KLFY News the incident happened on Wednesday. They said a student had a reaction to using the "weed pen" and that the school had to call an ambulance to transport the child.
Parents told KLFY News they received this text message Wednesday evening from school administrators:
"Good evening Parents and Guardians, Due to an unforseen medical emergency, students were dismissed late today. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have cause as the safety of all of our students is a priority. Thank you for your understanding in this matter."
Lafayette Parish School System spokeswoman Tracy Wirtz, said, "the administrators began the investigation process this morning on what happened at the school."
At this time they have no further comment.
