Looks Like Jordyn Woods Is a Pop Star Now
Normal people pick up bartending as a second or third job; semi-famous people try out music careers. Entering the pantheon of “I think I recognize that name?” celebrities attempting to pivot to pop stardom is model, socialite, and Masked Singer alum Jordyn Woods.
For those not plugged into the Kardashian-verse — I’m not; I had to have a co-worker explain this to me — Woods is Kylie Jenner’s former BFF who was stripped of that title after it came to light that Kylie’s half-sister Khloé Kardashian’s then-boyfriend, Tristan Thompson, had cheated on her with Woods. (Phew!) Woods has been name-dropped in a bunch of rap tracks like Rick Ross’s “NumbNumb Juice,” but now she’s officially dropping her own music.
Her debut single, “Be With You,” is a lovey-dovey R&B slow jam dedicated to her boyfriend, New York Knicks player Karl-Anthony Towns. “You stood by me thick and thin / All I want is your lovin,’” sings Woods. She posted a snippet of it in a Reel commemorating their four-year anniversary in May; Vince Staples commented in response, “Drop the album.” As a song, it’s not bad, not good, a watered-down version of something Kali Uchis or Victoria Monét would do. But Addison Rae’s debut was middling too — and look at where she is now!
