'Criminal violation!' Trump already whipping up voter fraud accusations in swing state

Former President Donald Trump is not even waiting for a single vote to be counted before crying fraud in one of the most significant battleground states, Rolling Stone reported Thursday.

“We caught them CHEATING BIG in Pennsylvania. Must announce and PROSECUTE, NOW!” Trump stated in a recent rant.

He has extensively accused Democrats of rigging the vote on his Truth Social platform, writing “This is a CRIMINAL VIOLATION OF THE LAW. STOP VOTER FRAUD! CHECK OUT KAMALA’S NEW SLEAZEBAG LAWYER. WE ARE ON THEM ALL THIS TIME! Who would have ever thought that our Country is so CORRUPT?”

Trump appears to be referring to a scheme uncovered in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, to fabricate thousands of fraudulent voter registrations, announced by local prosecutors earlier this week.

However, prosecutors have not said Democrats were behind the fraudulent registrations — and in fact, haven't yet revealed any details about who is suspected of the fraud. Additionally, Lancaster County is a heavily Trump-favoring area in Pennsylvania.

A local Republican elections official, Ray D'Agostino, also said the investigation is proof the safeguards in the county are working.

“This was detected, it was stopped, and the investigation is ongoing ... people who are legally able to vote will be able to vote," he said.

Trump has also claimed that Lancaster County was "caught with 2600 Fake Ballots and Forms, all written by the same person." Investigators haven't said anything about "fake ballots."

Pennsylvania could decide be the deciding battleground state next week.

Trump has pushed misleading and fabricated claims about election rigging, which became the basis of his efforts to block the certification of President Joe Biden's win in 2020 — a scheme for which he currently faces federal criminal charges.
