A source said: “Paloma is a fascinating character with plenty of stories to tell of life in the public eye, and great fun to be around.
“She’ll be an incredible player and will bring some glam to the castle – Claudia will have competition.”
Paloma is a singer who shot to fame in the early 2000s.
Over the years the star has created a number of UK top-ten singles, been nominated for Brit Awards and released six albums.
Some of her songs include Only Love Can Hurt Like This, Can’y Rely On You, Never Tear Us Apart and Picking Up the Pieces.
The Traitors premiered in 2022 on BBC One.
The show became a huge hit, following a group of people who are labelled either a Faithful or Traitor.
Among the Faithfuls, there are a number of Traitors who are trying to eliminate the rest of the Faithfuls so that they can get their hands on the money prize.
The second series premiered in January this year.
The Sun has since revealed that the Beeb commissioned a celeb spin-off of its ratings hit.
Paloma will also be joined by Ricky Gervais.
A TV insider said: “The Beeb want the crème de la crème of stars for the celeb spin-off, and they ideally have to be incredibly smart, funny, and mischievous — and that’s Ricky in three words.
“Behind the scenes, big names have already expressed their interest in taking part from the moment it was revealed the new version of The Traitors was being made.
“So Ricky will be in good company around the Traitors table, but whether he takes part will probably depend on his hugely busy diary.”
In February, The Sun told how Friends star Courteney, 60, was being lined up as the first signing for Celebrity Traitors.
A TV insider said: “Getting Courteney on board would be a real coup.”
The Sun revealed former jockey and BBC favourite Clare, 53, had signed up for Celebrity Traitors.
A source said: “Clare is an absolutely brilliant signing because she’s always turned down reality offers flat.
“As such, this will offer the first real glimpse into what she’s like as a person.
“She’s known to generations of TV viewers from fronting everything from racing and the Olympics through to Crufts and occasionally Countryfile.
“And could anyone really believe that the Beeb’s dependable, sensible face of sport could be a treacherous liar?”
Earlier this month, The Sun revealed Tom, 30, was in final talks to join The Traitors’ Celebrity edition.
An insider has also teased Richard Osman, 53, is “set to sign up” for the monumental Celebrity Traitors series.
In August, The Sun revealed comedian and presenter Stephen Fry had agreed to take part in Celebrity Traitors.
