‘I remember’: Marc Anthony slams Trump over his handling of Puerto Rico in powerful video
In a video posted to his social media, singer and songwriter Marc Anthony said that while many have forgotten, he remembers former President Donald Trump's handling of Hurricane Maria and its devastating impact on Puerto Rico.
Sunday night, Trump held a rally where he welcomed a right-wing comedian who equated Puerto Ricans with "garbage" as other speakers spewed other racist, sexist and perverse comments.
In a powerful video that shows the island's aftermath, Anthony recalls "what it was like when Trump was president. I remember what he did and said about Puerto Rico, about our people."
He said that in the aftermath of the hurricane, Trump "blocked billions in relief while thousands died."

There were families that "lacked clean water and electricity," but when Trump came to the island, he launched paper towels at people before calling them "dirty" and "poor."
Then again, Anthony said he wasn't all that surprised because Trump began his campaign in 2015 by calling Latinos criminals and rapists.
"He’s told us what he’ll do," wrote Anthony. "He'll separate children from their families and threatened to use the ARMY to do it. This election goes way beyond political parties. Now, let’s remember what the United States represents and stands for. It’s our name - United. Regardless of where we’re from."
