What the Brian Thomas and Christian Kirk injuries mean in fantasy football: Evan Engram to the moon
The Jacksonville Jaguars are having a bad season in 2024, and it just keeps getting worse.
Christian Kirk — who was a trade candidate — is out for the season with a broken collarbone. Brian Thomas Jr., who has become the WR1 in Duval, is out for a reported two to four weeks with chest and rib injuries.
Gabe Davis? He was banged up on Sunday.
So as we usually do, we’re going to break down the situation for fantasy football, because someone has to catch passes from Trevor Lawrence in that offense, right?
So let’s discuss who’s good, who isn’t and break down their stocks:
Stock up: TE Evan Engram
He was already looking like a TE1 in that offense, but now he’s going to see more than the five targets he saw in each of his past two games. Even if it’s short-yardage stuff, it’ll pile up.
Stock up: WR Parker Washington
The 2023 sixth-rounder is probably the next man up. He caught three passes for 46 yards on Sunday. If you need a FLEX option, he could put together some decent games.
Stock down: QB Trevor Lawrence
He was already struggling, but this is even worse.
Stock even: WR Gabe Davis
He’s not a high-volume guy to begin with, so I’m not sure he sees an increase in work.
