Iran accuses US of ‘Fueling tensions in the region’

0

Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, has accused the United States of supporting Israel in its operations against Iran, Gaza, and Lebanon, claiming that Israel lacks operational capabilities without U.S. backing.

In response to what he referred to as the “U.S. role in Israel’s attack on Iran,” Araghchi stated that the U.S. has actively participated in Israeli operations.

According to his claims, “the Americans provided an air corridor for the Israeli Air Force.”

Speaking with Iranian state media, Araghchi emphasized that “the defensive equipment sent by [the U.S.] to Israel beforehand constitutes a form of involvement in the recent operations, and in our view, America’s participation in escalating tensions by this regime in the region is quite evident.”

Araghchi further asserted that Israel lacks operational strength: “Without the U.S., Israel has no real operational capability in the region. This isn’t just about its actions against Iran, but also all its operations in Gaza, Lebanon, and elsewhere. In our opinion, the U.S. has been a partner in all of these cases.”

Iran’s accusations against the U.S. come as Washington continues to stress the need to de-escalate tensions in the region.

The allegation of U.S. involvement in Israel’s attack on Iran has previously been denied by the U.S. State Department.

The ongoing accusations and counterclaims between Iran and the U.S. underscore the deep mistrust and tensions that continue to plague the region.

While Iran accuses the U.S. of complicity in Israel’s military actions, Washington remains firm in its calls for de-escalation, indicating a complex and volatile geopolitical landscape in the Middle East.
