Lee Corso broke out a very special piece of headgear for his Indiana pick on College GameDay

There was absolutely no chance Lee Corso was going to pick against Indiana on Saturday’s episode of ESPN’s College GameDay live from Bloomington.

The only question was how he would make his famed headgear pick this week.

With the former Indiana coach back on campus with the show for the first time since 2017, Bloomington went all out — even declaring October 26 Coach Lee Corso Day — as the school honored the 1979 Holiday Bowl champion team led by Corso.

But the difficulty in making a headgear pick for Indiana is the simple fact the Hoosiers do not have a mascot. There’s no duck head or Brutus Buckeye costume for Corso to wear.

Not to worry, the coach knew exactly what to do: He broke out the Holiday Bowl champions hat from 1979. An absolutely perfect choice.
