Punjab: Farmers to hold 'chakka jam' in 4 locations over demands,including paddy procurement

Farmers in Punjab started a sit-down protest in Kapurthala demanding timely paddy procurement. Organised by Bharatiya Kisan Union (Krantikari) Punjab, they plan to block national highways if their demands are not met. The issue was discussed in a New Delhi meeting with Union Food and Supply Minister and continues to be significant for the protesting farmers.
