Judge cites West Wing actor Martin Sheen in ruling smacking down fake electors

The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals judges dropped a pop-culture body slam in ruling on the Georgia fake electors case.

The Georgia Republican electors David Shafer, Shawn Still and Cathy Latham appealed their case, asking that they be removed from the Fulton County racketeering case and remanded to federal court.

Legal analyst Roger Parloff noticed Judge Robin Rosenbaum wrote that the fake electors were no more "presidential Electors" than Martin Sheen was "ever the president." The legal citation said, "See generally The West Wing."

Sheen starred in the Aaron Sorkin-created political show that served as a liberal bastion of mental safety with a fantasy president beating back Republican issues.

Several in the case have attempted this, like former Donald Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows, who claimed that because he was a federal employee, the case should be in federal court. In that case, the judge and the appeals court ruled that the laws Meadows broke were in Georgia and thus should be charged by Georgia.
