U.S. dollar ticks up

NEW YORK, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar advanced in late trading on Monday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, gained 0.5 percent to 104.013 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro was down to 1.0812 U.S. dollars from 1.0865 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound dropped to 1.2979 U.S. dollars from 1.3046 U.S. dollars in t
