They were literally chasing shadows
As someone else has mentioned it's just a coping mechanism for lots of fans (including our own) after they have been beaten comfortably to run down the opposing team.
Their number 8 pushing Paik over because he wouldn't let them have the ball pretty much summed up the night.
It's deep-rooted as he got his assessment of him so badly wrong and it's made him look very, very silly.
