News24 | 'Root causes clear': Irregular expenditure soars at government departments and SOEs

The Auditor-General will continue using its newly legislated powers to clamp down on fruitless, wasteful and irregular expenditure, which has topped R1.4 billion in government departments, while more than R2 billion has been racked up in state-owned entities.
