He tallied 114 runs off 144 balls, showcasing his skill with two sixes and eight fours. Verreynne became the third South African wicketkeeper to achieve a Test century in Asia, joining the ranks of AB de Villiers and Quinton de Kock.

Throughout his innings, Verreynne forged a vital 119-run partnership for the seventh wicket with Wiaan Mulder, who contributed 54 runs off 112 balls. This collaboration proved instrumental in steering the team from a precarious 108/6 to establish a commanding 202-run lead over Bangladesh.

On Day 2, Verreynne’s innings played a pivotal role in South Africa’s first-innings total of 308. Tony de Zorzi and Dane Piedt made important contributions in the 30s, while Tristan Stubbs and Ryan Rickelton added valuable runs in the 20s.
