Verreynne became the third South African wicketkeeper to achieve a Test century in Asia, joining the ranks of AB de Villiers and Quinton de Kock.

Throughout his innings, Verreynne forged a vital 119-run partnership for the seventh wicket with Wiaan Mulder, who contributed 54 runs off 112 balls. This collaboration proved instrumental in steering the team from a precarious 108/6 to establish a commanding 202-run lead over Bangladesh.
